Originally from Puerto Rico, Abdiel (Abdi for short) Moved to New York City in 2007. He began his residential interiors work with top design firms, Studioluxe and Thomas O'Brien. He moved onto retail design later with Club Monaco, before moving to New Jersey and co-founding Velez-Matthews Design in 2015. He has a master's degree in Architecture, from the Universidad de Puerto Rico. Abdiel is also an artist who works in watercolor, pencil, and ink and specializes in the human form.
Brandon, a native Texan, moved to New York in 2000. In Texas he designed estate houses and large residential projects. After arriving in New York, he began his interiors and retail work with Barteluce Architects (as their creative director) Randall A Ridless, Bergdorf Goodman, and J.Crew. He is an architect and interior designer and studied architecture at the Gerald Hines School of Architecture at the University of Houston. Brandon is also an avid musician, and did his graduate work in piano performance and music composition.
